I bought one in 2007 for $750 and traded it 2 years ago. Regretted it every since and finally found another one at a gun show for $1000 about 4 months ago. Paid the man and brought it home. The wife loves to shoot this one.

I mean, look at my username, it was the first long gun i ever bought and it was what brought me to gunboards. Then I got Mosinitis... thanks gunboards...

 

Recently, CAI imported some and they were going for $800-850 I believe. The prices have been inflated since SH and haven't gone down yet

 

CAI never said they imported them recently ... they said they found them in the warehouse. I think they were just holding them waiting for the price to go up. When the recent batch sold out, they said there might be another soon but I expect them to release another small batch when the price jumps again.

 

Word on the street is that no more PSL's will be imported from Romania.

 

it looks like the new normal is at least $1000 with a scope and if you're lucky more than 1 mag.

 

I still feel its an $750 gun, even if the market says otherwise. I have owned 3 over the years, enjoyed each and everyone one of them. Some performed better than others, all were century built guns.

Expect to pay $1100-1200 for a PSL with scope and 1-2 magazines. $1000 is a good price if it comes with more than 1 magazine.

I just decided to get a dragunov because its what I really wanted, sold all the PSL's, will never sell the dragunov unless I am upgrading to a KBI.

 

I only asked because I was thinking of maybe selling mine. It is one that I bought almost 14 years ago. Havent shot more than 4-500 rounds thru it in that time. It is marked ROMAK3 and has a 1997 dated trunnion.

 

I wish I had kept all of the ones that I bought for $425-ish...sigh. Also wish I'd bought a BUNCH of those mag pouches with tools and full of mags for $99. Oh well, I am NOT a trainable monkey, no mater WHAT the Ranger Commitee says!
